Avatar

An avatar is a 3D digital representation of a resident in Second Life. An avatar is most often made of several components including a mesh head, mesh body, head skin, body skin, hair, and various types of apparel. Though it's not uncommon for an avatar to have all of these components together in the same mesh, they tend to be quite simple and residents lose the ability to change how the avatar looks.
